50 SHADES OF PURPLE

5 stars 1913 reasons to love this book!

As I always say, anthologies might be trick. There’s always a chance you don’t like all the stories. There are 58 stories in this book (okay, two of them are very, very short), but I can say that there are only two of them I didn’t like much.

The description of this book is very accurate. Stories that “range from delightly demented to grotesquely fascinating. ... The constant surprises will keep you on the edge of your seat, devouring your attention as you satisfy your need to unravel each unique mystery.” Just the way I like my Horror. The illustrations are also really cool.

My three favorites are: ‘Fifty Shades Of Purple’; ‘Say Hi To All The Folks Down In Hell’; ‘Your Dreams Taste Like Candy’. I rated each of them 10+. They are unique, twisted, scary, and left me with that feeling of wanting some more when I finished reading them.

Eight stories scored 10. They’re also terrific horror stories. Here they are: ‘Fun With 911’; ‘An Involuntary Hue Of Red’; ‘When Vomit Tastes Better Coming Up’; ‘Rat Kisses’; ‘Twist Of Damnation’; ‘Why Are You Afraid Of The Things In Your House’; ’Blood Mary Is A Bitch’; ‘Avarice’.

I scored almost thirty stories between 8 and 9.5. And I need to tell you, ‘Always Clean Your Sex Doll Before Introducing Her’; ‘Babble And Scratch’; and ‘How To Say Goodbye Without A Regret’ were very close to get a 10.

Overall, it’s a very great horror book. McGrail is a remarkable horror author. His stories are brilliant and horrific. I totally recommend this book, and I’ll for sure read more by this author.
